Paneer jalfrezi, an Indian vegetarian dish is classic with contrasting texture and flavors. The spicy Paneer Jalfrezi has numerous variations that can be made by altering the vegetables used in it. Fried vegetable in hot and spicy gravy is tasty and mouthwatering. Prepare this India cuisine with recipe given as follows.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cubed Paneer
  • 2 tbsp Oil (divided)
  • 1/2 tsp of Nigells seeds
  • 1/2 tsp of Cumin seeds
  • 1 cup sliced Onions
  • 1 tsp minced Ginger
  • 1 tsp minced Garlic
  • 3/4 tsp red Chilli powder
  • 2 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 cup sliced green Capsicum
  • 1/2 cup sliced Carrot
  • 1 cup crushed Tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup cubed ripe Tomatoes
  • 1 tsp of garam Masala
  • One pinch of kasuri Methi


How to make Paneer Jalfrezi

Step 1: Heat oil in a pan, then fry the paneer until golden brown on all sides. Set aside.
Step 2: Heat oil in a pan, add the cumin seeds and kalonji.
Step 3: Add onion and saute until turns translucent.
Step 4: Add ginger and garlic, and saute until becomes fragrant.
Step 5: Add chilli powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder and mix well.
Step 6: Add crushed canned tomato, carrots, capsicum and one cup of water, then cook covered until vegetables become tender.
Step 7: Add paneer and cubed tomato, then mix well and simmer until the gravy turns fairly thick.
Step 8: Afterwards, add kasuri methi, garam masala and salt, then again mix well.
Step 9: Serve paneer jalfrezi with hot chapati.
