- Cream Filling
- 2 Egg yolk
- 1 1/2 cups Milk
- 1/3 cup granulated Sugar
- 2 tbsp Cornstarch
- 1/8 tsp Salt
- 2 tsp Vanilla Cake
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose Flour
- 1 cup granulated Sugar
- 1/3 cup Butter
- 3/4 cup Milk
- 1 1/2 tsp Baking powder
- 1tsp Vanilla
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 Egg
- Chocolate Icing
- 3 tbsp Butter
- 3 oz unsweetened baking Chocolate
- 3 tbsp Water
- 1 cup powdered Sugar
- 3/4 tsp Vanilla
How to make Boston Cream Pie Cake
Step 1: For cream filling: Beat the egg yolk, then stir in milk.
Step 2: In a pan, add granulated sugar, cornstarch and salt, then stir until mixed.
Step 3: Gradually add egg mixture into sugar mixture while stirring continuosly.
Step 4: Cook the mixture until thickens, then stir in vanilla.
Step 5: Cover the mixture, then refrigerate it until sets.
Step 6: For cake: In a bowl, beat all the cake ingredients in an electric mixer.
Step 7: Pour the batter into the greased pan, then bake until tester comes out clean.
Step 8: Cool the cake on an wire rack.
Step 9: For Chocolate icing: Heat a pan, then melt butter and the chocolate while stirring occasionally.
Step 10: Meanwhile, boil the water.
Step 11: Remove chocolate mixture from heat, then stir in sugar and vanilla, hot water until icing is smooth and thin.
Step 12: Split cake horizontally in half with a long, sharp knife.
Step 13: Place bottom layer with the cut side up, then spread filling over bottom layer and put the top of cake, cut side down.
Step 14: Spread icing over top of cake and let some icing drizzle down side of cake.
Step 15: Refrigerate the cake uncovered until serving.
